What is the MiXto SX® Laser?
The MiXto SX® laser is an advanced laser system that uses the latest in fractional CO2 laser technology. As an ablative fractional procedure, it is also known as a skin resurfacing laser treatment. This means that it removes the outermost layers of skin using laser technology, eliminating damaged skin cells while stimulating collagen production and allowing new, healthy skin to grow in their place. However, the MiXto SX® laser uses a fractional approach, instead of removing the entire layer of skin. The MiXto SX® laser creates thousands of microscopic treatment zones on the skin, reducing pain, side effects, and recovery time when compared to other ablative laser treatments.

What is the MiXto SX® Laser Treatment Like?
The MiXto SX® treatment is significantly more comfortable than comparable laser treatments, thanks to a unique heating system and the fractional resurfacing approach. Still, we may apply a topical anesthetic to the skin prior to treatment to minimize any discomfort during the treatment process. To administer treatment, we’ll use a handpiece that delivers continuous, controlled laser energy to the desired areas. Treatment may take up to an hour, with the exact treatment times varying depending on the size of the treatment area.
What Results Can I Expect from the MiXto SX® Laser?
After a MiXto SX® laser treatment, patients can expect immediate skin tightening, as well as some temporary redness in the skin. You may also experience a brownish discoloration in the following days, followed by the peeling of the top layers of skin. As the treated skin flakes off and the treatment area heals, you’ll notice improvements in skin complexion and tightness. These results should continue to improve for several weeks. Most patients achieve significant results in just one or two treatment sessions, although we will customize each patient’s treatment plan for optimal results based on their skincare needs.
