What is DAXXIFY™?

DAXXIFY™ is a newly-approved injectable treatment designed to address frown lines and other facial lines and wrinkles in adults. The DAXXIFY™ formula is made with the botulinum toxin, just like Botox®, Dysport® and similar injectable treatments. Like these other treatments, DAXXIFY™ is a neuromodulator, which means that upon injection, it relaxes the facial muscles responsible for creating facial wrinkles. In the weeks following treatment, the appearance of these lines and wrinkles diminish as the muscles relax. However, unlike other neuromodulator injectables, DAXXIFY™ has been carefully formulated to offer an extended effect duration. What is the DAXXIFY™ Treatment Like?

DAXXIFY™ treatments are performed in our office in a matter of minutes. There is no need for anesthesia, although we can apply a topical numbing gel to the skin to minimize any discomfort during the injection process. Treatment involves injecting the DAXXIFY™ formula into and around the desired treatment area. The exact number and location of these injections will depend on your treatment goals, and will be discussed during your consultation. The DAXXIFY™ treatment takes less than 30 minutes to perform.

How Long is the Recovery After DAXXIFY™?

There is no downtime or recovery period after DAXXIFY™. Patients can return to work and other normal activities immediately after their appointment. However, you may experience redness or light bruising in the treatment area that lasts a day or two. DAXXIFY™ can take a few days to set in and take effect in the treatment area, so you can expect to see results within a week of your treatment. After this point, you can expect your results to last approximately six months, with some patients maintaining results as long as nine months after treatment.

How Much Does DAXXIFY™ Cost?

Costs associated with DAXXIFY™ treatment will vary from patient to patient due to the number of areas being treated and the number of injections required for treatment. How do injectable dermal fillers work?

Injectable dermal fillers enhance skin volume by using smooth, gel-like formulas. These formulas are injected beneath the skin’s surface, where they spread out and fill the skin just like your natural skin volume. Beneath the skin, they mimic hyaluronic acid and other natural compounds in the body by binding to the skin, adding a natural-looking volume and filling in lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers are designed to last for months or years at a time, so while the body will safely break them down over time, they will still provide an increase in skin volume that lasts for months to come.

How long does the procedure take?

The dermal filler procedure takes only a few minutes to complete. Once the treatment plan is determined, we will start by applying a local anesthetic to the skin. This may be in the form of an injection or a topical solution. Once the skin is numbed, we’ll inject the dermal filler formula into the desired treatment area. This can involve multiple injections in multiple areas depending on your treatment goals. Once injections are performed, we may gently massage the treatment area to distribute the dermal filler evenly throughout the skin. In most cases, treatment is completed in less than 30 minutes.

Will I be bruised after injectable dermal fillers?

Bruising is a common side effect of injectable dermal fillers. However, most patients find that bruising fades within just a few days of treatment. In some cases, bruising is so minor that patients are able to return to work and other normal activities immediately after their treatments. If you are concerned with bruising or swelling, you can apply ice or cold packs to the treatment area to alleviate these symptoms.

Is there downtime after injectable dermal fillers?

No! One of the best parts of dermal filler treatments is that there is no downtime required. Aside from the few minor side effects mentioned above, you will be able to return to work and other activities immediately after your appointment. You can enjoy zero downtime after injectable dermal fillers.

Dr. B is absolutely the best! I have had nothing but positive experiences in the office as well as during procedures. I have been seeing Dr. Annie for the last 8 years. She has been amazing with different treatments I've needed. From Botox to Laser treatments for various scars, to Emsculpt NEO, I trust her implicitly. Also important to note, that her and Dr. B really care and will not provide services that they think will be detrimental or unhelpful. They have both told me "no" when appropriate. Its an invaluable asset. I highly recommend them both.
