What are Dermal Fillers and Injectables?
Injectables and dermal fillers are cosmetic products that are designed for facial rejuvenation. These fillers allow you to look younger without an invasive surgical procedure, or the need for downtime. Best of all, the treatment takes under an hour, and the results are seen immediately.
What is a Non-Surgical Facelift?
A non-surgical facelift refers to the combination of dermal fillers and injectables being strategically added to the face to mimic the results of a surgical facelift. This is a temporary, minimally invasive solution to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin in patients who are not ready to undergo a traditional facelift procedure. A non-surgical facelift can be performed in under 60 minutes and does not require any downtime or recovery. This is a great way for patients to get a naturally refreshed look without cutting, scarring, or the use of anesthesia.
What are the Benefits of Dermal Fillers and Injectables?
Injectables and dermal fillers treat creases, fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead, mouth, and nose. Some of these products are designed to enhance the natural contours of your face to leave you looking and feeling younger. Dr. Buinewicz personally selected the following injectables and filters to meet the needs of her male and female patients in the Philadelphia area.
Who is the Ideal Candidate for Dermal Fillers and Injectables?
There are dermal filler and injectable options for patients of every age. However, you should not have a history of an allergic reaction to the active ingredients in the injectables and dermal fillers. Patients also need to be in good health to undergo the procedure.
What Do I Need to Do Before Having Dermal Fillers and Injectables Treatment?
Dermal fillers and injectables are highly popular procedures. Unfortunately, the popularity means that there are people offering these treatments without having the necessary experience and expertise. If used improperly, the results of these fillers may not be something you desire. Worst case scenario, your health may be at risk. The most important step for patients to take before treatment is to use the services of Dr. Buinewicz, a board-certified plastic surgeon. You can feel confident and comfortable with the level of care and your choice to have a dermal filler or injectable.

Dermal Fillers FAQs
How long does the procedure take?
The dermal filler procedure takes only a few minutes to complete. Once the treatment plan is determined, we will start by applying a local anesthetic to the skin. This may be in the form of an injection or a topical solution. Once the skin is numbed, we’ll inject the dermal filler formula into the desired treatment area. This can involve multiple injections in multiple areas depending on your treatment goals. Once injections are performed, we may gently massage the treatment area to distribute the dermal filler evenly throughout the skin. In most cases, treatment is completed in less than 30 minutes.
Will I be bruised after injectable dermal fillers?
Bruising is a common side effect of injectable dermal fillers. However, most patients find that bruising fades within just a few days of treatment. In some cases, bruising is so minor that patients are able to return to work and other normal activities immediately after their treatments. If you are concerned with bruising or swelling, you can apply ice or cold packs to the treatment area to alleviate these symptoms.
Is there downtime after injectable dermal fillers?
No! One of the best parts of dermal filler treatments is that there is no downtime required. Aside from the few minor side effects mentioned above, you will be able to return to work and other activities immediately after your appointment. You can enjoy zero downtime after injectable dermal fillers.
