Should I Get a Facelift and Blepharoplasty Together?

What many people don’t realize is each plastic surgery has its own set of benefits, but when combined together, can produce results far beyond what either treatment could do alone. Today, we’re going to explain why you should consider getting a facelift and blepharoplasty done together.

What Does a Facelift Involve?

A facelift is a surgical cosmetic procedure that helps to rejuvenate the lower two-thirds of the face with a specialized technique. During your facelift, discrete incisions will be made along the hairline and behind the ears. From there, Dr. Buinewicz is able to tighten the muscles in the face to prevent sagging at its very core. Then, the facial skin will be pulled tight, and excess skin and tissue will be trimmed away. In all, it should only take about four to six weeks to fully recover from a facelift.

What are the Benefits of a Facelift Alone?

There are many benefits to getting a facelift done at Buinewicz Cosmetic Surgery & Medspa, including:

  • Tightened facial muscles to reduce sagging skin
  • Tightened facial skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • A re-contoured neckline and jawline

What Does a Blepharoplasty Involve?

Blepharoplasty, also known popularly as eyelid surgery, is a surgical cosmetic procedure in which unwanted fat and sagging skin are removed from the upper and lower eyelids. During your blepharoplasty, discrete incisions will be made in the natural folds of the skin or along the lower lash line. From those incisions, excess fatty pads under the eyes and extra loose skin along the upper eyelids may be removed. This surgery, being less invasive than a facelift, only takes a total of two weeks to fully recover from.

What are the Benefits of Eyelid Surgery Alone?

There are many benefits to getting blepharoplasty done at Buinewicz Cosmetic Surgery & Medspa, including:

  • Eyes looking less sad or bored
  • Reduces the appearance of sagging or drooping upper eyelids
  • Helps improve the appearance of puffy bags under the eyes
  • Makes the eyes look more awake and alert

The Power of Two

Getting a facelift and blepharoplasty together can give you the overall rejuvenated face you’ve been dreaming of. A facelift works to re-contour the jawline and rejuvenate the mid-face, while a blepharoplasty works to enhance the eyes for an overall refreshed look. Combining the procedures together also cuts down on overall recovery time, downtime and surgery time.
