What is Latisse®?
Latisse® is an FDA-approved treatment designed to grow your eyelashes for those patients with inadequate or short lashes. Latisse® works to grow your lashes gradually over time with some people beginning to see longer lashes in about four weeks, and with full growth occurring at 16 weeks. Latisse® increases the length of the anagen phase and the number of hairs in this growth phase, and your lashes get longer, darker and luscious.
What are the Benefits of Latisse®?
Are you tired of thin lashes? With Latisse® you will notice a real difference in your overall lash prominence, including length, thickness, and darkness at the end of your 16-week treatment. You can get lovely, long lashes with no surgery or downtime with Latisse®!
Who is a Candidate for Latisse®?
Latisse® is the only FDA-approved product designed to grow your lashes longer, fuller and darker. It has been studied for safety and efficacy and is available only by prescription to ensure proper treatment and use. If you want longer, lusher lashes, then you may very well be an excellent candidate for Latisse®.
What is the Procedure for Latisse®?
Latisse® is a treatment that you apply yourself each evening to the base of the upper eyelashes. During your consultation, Dr. Buinewicz will review the self-application procedure in great detail with you. Each Latisse® kit also contains detailed instructions for proper application. You begin by removing any makeup you have on, cleaning your upper eyelids and removing your contact lenses, if applicable. Your contact lenses can be placed back in your eye after 15 minutes following the application of Latisse® if needed. Then, using the single-use applicator brush provided in the package, one drop of Latisse® is placed on the applicator brush and applied to the base of your upper eyelid lash margin, and then the same process is repeated to the other eyelid using a fresh applicator brush to avoid cross contamination. Be careful not to allow the tip of the bottle or applicator to contact surrounding surfaces so as to avoid contamination. After applying, any excess fluid should be blotted off with a tissue. For best results, Latisse® needs to be used once a day for 16 weeks.
What is the Cost of Latisse®?
The total cost of your Latisse® treatment will vary based upon your specific eyelash treatment requirements. During your consultation at Buinewicz Plastic Surgery with board-certified family physician Dr. Anna Buinewicz, we will develop a personalized treatment plan customized to meet your needs. You will be informed of your treatment costs and methods of payment. We are happy to accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards.
