Laser Tattoo Removal
in Bucks County, PA, and Hunterdon County, NJ

Tattoos are a popular trend among both younger and older demographics. Due to their permanent nature, some people may no longer want the tattoos that they have after years have passed. At Buinewicz Plastic Surgery, we want you to look and feel your best, so we offer laser tattoo removal to all of our patients. Located in Doylestown, PA and Flemington, NJ, Buinewicz Plastic Surgery, led by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Brian R. Buinewicz, provides services for those who live in and around Hunterdon County, NJ and Bucks County, PA.

What is Laser Tattoo Removal?

Laser tattoo removal is the safest and easiest way to remove unwanted tattoos. Using intense, short pulses of light to targeted areas, our team can effectively remove a tattoo (after several treatments). At Buinewicz Plastic Surgery, we use one of the newest, fastest lasers on the market, PicoSure®.

How Does the PicoSure® Laser Work?

The PicoSure® laser is ideal for two types of treatments (1) tattoo removal, and (2) skin rejuvenation. The laser breaks tattoo ink into microscopic pieces that are able to be absorbed through natural body processes.

When used for skin rejuvenation, PicoSure® stimulates collagen production. The increase in collagen allows a new layer of skin to form, diminishing lines, wrinkles, sun spots and other common blemishes.

Is Everyone a Candidate for Laser Tattoo Removal?

Laser tattoo removal is available to men and women who have unwanted tattoos on their bodies. Some tattoos respond to treatment better than others based on factors like ink color and age of the tattoo. During your consultation we will evaluate your tattoo and make determination regarding how many sessions are needed to completely remove the tattoo from your body.

What Happens During a Laser Tattoo Removal Procedure?

Dr. Buinewicz will first apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area. When you are comfortable the laser treatment will begin and typically lasts approximately 30 minutes but can vary depending on the size of the tattoo.

Is the Laser Tattoo Removal Painful?

The treatment should not be painful, as a topical anesthetic is applied before the actual laser treatment begins. Side effects are usually minimal and may include minor swelling or redness. These typically resolve naturally within a few hours.

After Laser Tattoo Removal

After treatment patients can resume normal activities immediately. There is no downtime or recovery period. Depending on the results of the first procedure, you may want to have additional treatments to further improve results. During your consultation we will estimate the number of treatments required to completely remove the tattoo from your body.

How Much Does Laser Tattoo Removal Cost?

We offer various financing options to help patients pay for laser tattoo removal and other cosmetic procedures. You will learn the cost of PicoSure® laser treatments during your consultation.

What are Other Benefits of PicoSure® Laser Treatment?

The PicoSure® laser is also effective at removing brown spots on the skin, and for tightening the skin. Skin rejuvenation with the PicoSure® laser is similar to the procedure of laser tattoo removal, although the laser is being used to stimulate collagen production, instead of remove ink. Increased collagen production helps to produce a new layer of the skin, one that has diminished lines, wrinkles, sun spots and brown spots.

If you no longer want your tattoo or are experiencing wrinkled, sagging skin, PicoSure® laser treatments can be a solution.
