Hair Transplant
in Bucks County, PA, and Hunterdon County, NJ

For anyone living with baldness or thinning hair, it is enough to make you feel self-conscious in any number of situations. Located in Doylestown, PA and Flemington, NJ, Buinewicz Plastic Surgery, led by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Brian R. Buinewicz, offers hair transplants for men and women who live in and around Hunterdon County, NJ and Bucks County, PA.

What is a Hair Transplant?

Today’s modern hair transplant methods give superior, natural results by harvesting one’s own donor hair from the sides or back of their scalp and implanting the individual hairs into small incisions in the balding or thinning area. The majority of people experience thinning and balding on the top and in front of the scalp. Dr. Buinewicz creates a very natural hairline and personalized growth pattern that gives you long-lasting, outstanding results.

Who is a Candidate for Hair Transplantation?

You must have adequate donor hair that is healthy enough for transplantation in order to be considered an ideal candidate for the procedure. Dr. Buinewicz will assess if your donor hair is suitable enough for the procedure during your one-on-one consultation appointment. As the surgery also requires anesthesia, it is important you be in overall good health as well

Can Women Undergo Hair Transplantation Surgery?

Female pattern baldness has become less taboo in recent years as hair transplantation techniques have evolved to meet the specific needs of women. Hair transplantation surgery is an outstanding option for both areas of baldness and thinning. If your female hair loss is caused by hormonal changes, Dr. Buinewicz suggests you work with your primary care physician to rebalance your hormone levels before undergoing the transplantation procedure. Hormonal stability will help to extend the results of your hair transplantation.

Should Young Adults Undergo Hair Replacement Surgery?

Although both men and women can start to lose their hair in their 20s and 30s, Dr. Buinewicz may recommend postponing treatment. In many cases, at such an age, the donor hair has not yet been established, and the pattern of hair loss is not yet obvious. These factors can disrupt the hair growth in the donor area. In addition, any areas that may lose hair in the future are not addressed. Hair transplantation is always an individualized process, though, so we recommend that you meet with Dr. Buinewicz for a one-on-one consultation.

Can a Poor Transplantation Job Be Corrected?

Those who had hair transplantation surgery performed when it was a new concept likely were not satisfied with the results. The traditional technique of using “plugs” of hair created an unnatural hair pattern that was a telltale sign of having had a hair transplant done. If this is you, Dr. Buinewicz is able to blend new hair donor grafts into the areas that were previously treated years ago to provide you with a much more natural hair growth pattern.

How Long After Surgery Do Patients Have to Wait Before Returning to Their Daily Routines?

There is a recovery period of one or two days after the surgery, after which you may return to work and light activities. You should avoid exercise for at least 10 days after your procedure.

What Do the Transplants Look Like Before They Start to Grow?

You should expect to have scabs in the treatment area for the first two weeks. It is also normal to experience a three to four-month cycle of the transplanted hairs falling out and being replaced by new hairs. Full results will be noticeable six to nine months from surgery date. The incision site in the donor area will have a mild scar that is hidden in the hairline. The scar may be more noticeable if you have had previous surgeries.

How Long Does It Take for Hair Transplantation Patients To Have Their Final Results?

After about three months, you will see new hair begin to grow in the treatment area as your hair gradually becomes fuller. After six to nine months, the full results of your hair transplantation surgery will be realized.

What Is the Cost of a Hair Transplant in Bucks County, PA?

The cost of hair transplantation depends on the extent of the procedure and the number of grafts that are needed. Dr. Buinewicz will determine these factors during your one-on-one consultation. Once we have a detailed surgical plan written up, we will be able to provide a complete cost analysis to you. In order to make hair restoration more affordable to all of our patients, we offer several flexible payment options, including cash, personal checks, and major credit cards. We also have financing available that may be applied prior to your consultation. If you desire self-improvement in the form of hair restoration, Dr. Buinewicz will accommodate your needs.
