Reopening After COVID-19

Plastic Surgery in Bucks County, PA, and Hunterdon County, NJBuinewicz Cosmetic Surgery & MedSpa serves patients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. As of April 15, Pennsylvania’s Governor Wolf has allowed elective surgeries to become available on May 8, and Governor Murphy of New Jersey has restrictions on these types of procedures indefinitely. As May 8 approaches, we want to share new practices that we are implementing to provide exceptional care to our patients while also ensuring the comfort and safety of patients and staff alike.

Social Distancing Remains a Priority

Until such time that we have an effective vaccination and treatment protocols for COVID-19, the virus will continue to be a consideration in all public settings. As such, when we are able to reopen our office, all patients, family members, visitors, and staff will be required to wear masks. We are also asking our patients to limit the number of people that accompany you to an appointment. Family members and friends will not be allowed in patient exam rooms. Only the patient and our staff are allowed in these areas. Should you need a family member or friend to be present when you meet with our staff, we have a conference room set up so that they can listen in as we meet with you.

Our Facility and Exam Rooms

Operational practices for our facility and patient areas are:

  • Our entire facility is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected
  • The reception area has been redesigned to allow the minimum distance of six feet between waiting patients
  • We have designated private consultation rooms for our patients
  • Each exam room and all contact surfaces are disinfected and decontaminated after each visit
  • Patients are screened for symptoms of COVID-19 prior to being seen
  • Appointments are set at times and durations that maximize social distancing practices
  • Patients are checked in and taken to exam rooms to be screened by our staff, thereby minimizing time spent in the public areas of our practice
  • You are welcome to wait in your car for your appointment time, and we will notify you when we are ready for you
  • Appointments can be scheduled over the phone or online
  • Virtual consultations are available to minimize the requirements to come to our facility
  • We are setting up other mechanisms of communication, including text messages, and will update our website as these options are implemented

COVID-19 Best Practices Remain in Effect

In addition to social distancing, we ask our patients, visitors, and staff to follow other best practices for COVID-19:

  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home–we are happy to reschedule your appointment or set up a virtual consultation
  • If you need to cough or sneeze while in our facility, cover your mouth or do so in the bend of your elbow
  • Wash your hands several times a day for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or hand sanitizer
  • If someone in your home is sick or if you have possibly been exposed to COVID-19, please self-quarantine for at least 14 days before you come into our office – we will screen for this type of exposure risk
  • When you are at our facility, please minimize the number of surfaces that you touch
  • Avoid touching your face
  • If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, we will likely ask for copies of the test results showing medical clearance before scheduling your appointment in our facility
  • We may require all patients to provide proof of being COVID-19 negative before performing elective surgeries
