Dr. Brian Buinewicz is a Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only Board Certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Dr. Buinewicz has been certified by the American Board of Surgery (for General Surgery) as well as the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine. Presently, Dr. Buinewicz is the Emeritus Chief of Plastic Surgery at Abington Jefferson Health, Abington, PA, as well as Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor at Temple University School of Medicine, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He has also served as the Director of the Comprehensive Wound Healing Center of Abington Memorial Hospital and was an Associate Medical Director for Praxis Clinical Services.

Dr. Buinewicz is the owner and Plastic Surgeon of Buinewicz Plastic Surgery and MedSpa, along with his partner, Dr. Annie Buinewicz, in Doylestown, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. The practice offers a comprehensive range of care, from plastic surgery procedures to non-invasive treatments, including injectable and energy-based skin rejuvenation procedures.

“When I started practicing Plastic Surgery after residency, I built my practice by focusing on taking care of one patient at a time and providing superior care to achieve optimal results. My mission is dedicated to “one physician, one team, focused on the patient.”
Currently, he operates at Abington Surgical Center and has office locations in Doylestown, PA, and Flemington, New Jersey. He is a graduate of Villanova University and Jefferson Medical College and completed his General Surgery residency at Abington Memorial Hospital and his Plastic Surgery Residency at Indiana University Medical Center. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Robert H. Ivy Society, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Besides maintaining a busy surgical and office schedule, Dr. Buinewicz continues to present at regional and national meetings, including “Outcomes of Implant removal and Total Capsulectomy for Breast Implant Illness: A retrospective review of 248 patients” (both presented and published in PRS Global Open). He was one of the first surgeons to use an acellular dermal matrix (Alloderm) for hernia repair, published in Annals of Plastic Surgery in 2004. He was one of the initial investigators in using Strattice Reconstructive Matrix for post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. Most recently authored a chapter in Advances in Cosmetic Surgery on “Understanding Breast Implant Illness.”
When he is not taking care of patients, Dr. Buinewicz pursues his love of music and classical guitar, playing whenever he can. “Music is my escape and helps me focus on what is important,” states Dr. Buinewicz. He loves spending time with his family, grandchildren, and of course, his dog, Leo.
